The Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist program at AHCP can provide quality training to students who are interested in a highly focused and technical medical position. The role of a limited medical radiologic technician is very specialized but allows close work with patients. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, career opportunities for people with training from radiology technician schools will grow faster than average for all occupations through 2012 due to enhancements in imaging technology, a shift to outpatient care and growth in the demand for diagnostic imaging.
As a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT), you'll use advanced technology to take X-rays that will help doctors diagnose medical problems. Job responsibilities can include positioning patients for X-rays, determining appropriate angle and height of X-ray equipment and calculating the dosage of radiation needed to create quality X-rays of the appropriate density, detail and contrast.
You have a choice of radiology technician schools in Texas, but AHCP offers training in many hands-on areas that will allow you to pass the Texas state licensing exam after graduation from the radiology technologist program.
